Use a marketing coordinator

A charity event is a great way to get your name out there at little to no cost. -Lindsey Evers

The firm Bingham, Osborn & Scarborough (BOS) is based in San Francisco, a very competitive market for financial advisors clamoring for high net-worth clients. BOS Partners wanted to focus their skills on what they knew best—pleasing clients—but to raise their profile and attract more clients, they needed a full-time person on staff to concentrate on those efforts.

That’s where Lindsey Evers, the firm’s marketing coordinator comes in. She’s in charge of creating events that satisfy clients and increase leads for new prospects. Doing this all on her own, Evers is as busy as the advisors—brainstorming event ideas, scouting venues, negotiating prices, developing guest lists, preparing employees for the event, and on managing the flow of every event on site [...] “A charity event is a great way to get your name out there at little to no cost,” Evers says. “And if you make it a combination of firm event, charitable benefit and a golf event, clients are more likely to attend because it’s for a good cause.”
